A meeting is to be held at Thomond Park on Tuesday 29th July for the First Division sides taking part in the Under Twenty Southern Conference for next season.

A meeting is to be held at Thomond Park on Tuesday 29th July for the First Division sides taking part in the Under Twenty Southern Conference for next season.

Proposals and fixtures are to be agreed at this meeting.

The sixteen sides that took part in last season’s competition will take part again. They will be split into two sections of eight based on last season’s results. Each side will play each other. On completion of these Section matches, the top four sides in one section will play the bottom four sides in the other section, giving each side eleven games.

On completion of this, sides will be ranked in order of one to sixteen based on these results. The top side will automatically qualify for the Millennium Cup. There will be play offs for the other two places with two at home to five and three at home to four. The winners of these ties will meet to decide second and third place.

The League will commence on week ending 18th October and the first phase should be completed before Christmas. The Second phase should be finished by February and the play offs are scheduled for early March.

It is envisaged that the League will be reduced to fourteen sides next season.
