A record number of teams have entered for this season’s Kinsale Sevens which will be played this Bank Holiday weekend at the picturesque grounds of Kinsale RFC on Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2nd May.
A record number of teams have entered for this season’s Kinsale Sevens which will be played this Bank Holiday weekend at the picturesque grounds of Kinsale RFC on Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2nd May.
Teams confirmed include leading invitation sides Varsity Blues from England. The 2002 finalists Gladiators and St. Mary’s College. Suzies Exiles from Holland and two sides from Fiji that have won at Kinsale previously will be attending. The Fiji Babas and three time winners Kentz South Sea Drifters which will include Waisale Serevi, acknowledged as the master genius of Sevens Rugby internationally over the last ten years.
Other sides taking part are the Belgium Barbarians, Rotterdam Barbarians (Holland), Weakas from New Zealand, UTM (Moldova), Les Senior Francaises and Air France (France), Royal Vets College, Marauders and Henley (England), Edinburgh Academicals (Scotland), Llandaff (Wales).
Clogher Valley are coming from Ulster and Blackrock, Old Belvedere and U.C.D. from Dublin. The Sinbinners and Sunday’s Well are two of the local sides set to compete.
With plenty of activity planned off the field, Kinsale is the place to be this weekend.
