Flannery Set To Start ?

The news from the Irish camp that Rory Best suffered a dislocated right thumb during the game against Georgia must nean a call up to the starting X for Jerry Flannery. The injury has resulted in a small crack to the bone and the recovery period for this is between 2 – 3 weeks.

Best was replaced by Flannery in the 53rd minute and shortly after was on hand, on the wing, to deliver the scoring pass that put Girvan Dempsey in for the winning try.
John Hayes is reporting a tight calf muscle following the game, but he will take a limited part in training tomorrow and is expected to be available for the France game.
Denis Hickie is the only other player troubled by a knock. He suffered a bruised knee during the game. The knee has responded to
treatment today (Sunday) and although Hickie will not train on Monday, he is expected to be available for selection for the the game against France.
The squad will leave the south of France and move north to Paris for the final Pool games.
