Title Rests With Leinster Ulster & Ospreys
8th April 2007 By Munster Rugby
With four games to go in this season’s Magners League, or five in the case of Ospreys, leaders Leinster will find themselves pushed all the way by holders, third placed Ulster, and Neath-Swansea Ospreys.
Leinster. v Dragons (away); v Ospreys (away); v Borders (home); v Cardiff Blues (away).
Ulster. v Borders (away); v Cardiff Blues (away); v Glasgow (home); v Edinburgh (home).
Ospreys. v Llanelli Scarlets (away); v Leinster (home); v Glasgow (away); v Borders (away); v Dragons (away).
On paper the Ospreys look to be in pole position to snatch the title given that they have a game in hand on Leinster and Ulster and home advantage over Leinster who visit the Liberty Stadium on April 27th but Ulster cannot be written off.
They have arguably the easiest run-in of the three with three home games and an away trip to bottom of the pile Borders next weekend.
Leinster on the other hand must travel to Wales for three of their last four games beginning with the trip to Newport next Friday. That is a must win game for Michael Cheika’s side because Ulster will be in Netherdale where they will expect a five point haul while Ospreys are engaged in the EDF Energy Cup final against Leicester Tigers.
