Ticket Response

Ticket Response

The current status of Munster Rugby is reflected in the demand for ticket packages at the newly developed Thomond Park, which is expected to open in October 2008.

The Munster Branch, as governing body for rugby in the Province, was in the enviable position of not being able to fulfil all requests for tickets when this issue was considered recently.

We acknowledge that in asking The Munster Rugby Supporters Club to work with us to increase their membership we had intimated that consideration would be given to increasing their allocation of tickets beyond the 50% they have received. However, given existing club and school entitlements and a standing agreement that Munster Clubs would have first option on additional ticket packages, the Munster Branch were not in a position to do so at this point in time.

Munster CEO, Garrett Fitzgerald, said “We fully understand the frustration felt by the members of the Munster Rugby Supporters Club but we have to work within the parameters of our own governance, existing commitments, tournament rules, sponsorship contracts and visiting club entitlements. We have enjoyed a very good working relationship with all our constituent members and the Supporters Club.  We hope this will continue and appreciate their support.”
