28th July 2015 By Munster Rugby
With pre-season preparations continuing and just over two weeks to the first game against Grenoble in Thomond Park, the Munster squad will welcome the arrival of new signing Francis Saili later this week.
Saili, who joins Munster on a two-year contract, is due to arrive on Thursday and will have the opportunity to meet his Munster colleagues at Friday’s squad session in Cork before the weekend break.
With the squad in the middle of week 5 of pre-season Head Coach Anthony Foley hopes to see the former Blues centre integrate into the squad’s training programme over the next number of weeks.
“We look forward to working with Francis and giving him the time to settle in. I’m sure everyone will be excited to see him run out in the red jersey in the near future.”
The 24 year-old has made 42 Super Rugby appearances for the Blues, scoring seven tries, and represented the All Blacks on 2 occasions.
In other player news it has been confirmed today that former Munster development player Barry O’Mahony is to retire from rugby. O’Mahony who was contracted to the province until the end of last season has been forced to call time on his playing career on medical grounds.
