Munster qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions Cup after wins over Harlequins and Clermont Auvergne in the Pool stage of the competition.

A 21-7 victory over Quins at Thomond was followed up with a magnificent 39-31 comeback win way to Clermont, the province’s first-ever victory at Stade Marcel Michelin.

A try from Gavin Coombes, a penalty try and penalties from JJ Hanrahan (two) and Ben Healy earned the win over Harlequins on December 13.

A week later, Johann van Graan’s side stunned Clermont to overcome a 28-9 deficit. Mike Haley, CJ Stander and Kevin O’Byrne scored the Munster tries with Hanrahan enjoying an immaculate night off the tee, kicking 26 points.

The two victories gave Munster a home tie in the last 16 with Toulouse visiting Limerick this Saturday at 3pm.
