Munster Rugby And Cope Foundation In Conversation – Ep 3
17th February 2022 By The Editor
Our community is all-inclusive and we are proud to support the fantastic work of our nominated charity partner Cope Foundation.
In a new series, we chat to four people involved with the foundation based on four themes:
- The right to an education.
- The right to work.
- The right to play sport.
- The right to live a normal life.
Cope Foundation work to enhance the lives of people with an intellectual disability and/or autism; working in partnership with them, their families and local communities, to provide a range of person centred services and supports.
This will enable each person to live life to the full, influence the decisions that affect them, and actively participate in their community. Right now, they support over 2,800 children and adults with an intellectual disability and/or autism across Cork city and county.
Article 30 of the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities is about participating in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sport on an equal basis with others. Together, we can make this happen.
Cope Foundation is supporting people to live ‘Your Life, Your Way’. We are proud to share their vision of a society where everyone is equal and everyone is valued.
You and me, we all belong in the same community. We just need to open our eyes to see it.
Every person has a valuable role to play in our communities – understanding, equality, and inclusion makes this a reality.
