Munster made it back-to-back wins over Northampton at Thomond Park on Saturday evening with the province keeping their knock-out qualification hopes alive ahead of next Sunday’s final Pool game away to Toulouse.
Graham Rowntree’s side led 24-0 at half-time but had been reduced to 14 men after 22 minutes when Jack O’Donoghue was sent off for a high tackle.
Northampton mounted a second-half comeback but Munster clung on with Jack Crowley kicking a vital 75th minute penalty.
