Video: Munster Host Alzheimer’s Tea Day
2nd May 2017 By The Editor
Look back at last Wednesday’s fun in UL as Munster players and management hosted their very own Alzheimer’s Tea Day in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, one of Munster’s nominated charities for the current season.
Teas, coffees, cakes and selfies were the order of the day as members of the squad served up the sweetest of feasts to those who called in to the Foundation Building in UL.
The day also saw CJ Stander, Dave Foley and Robin Copeland trade the rugby ball for a spatula in a cake decorating competition – CJ bagging the spoils – with Ian Keatley, Alex Wootton, Jaco Taute, Jack O’Donoghue, Felix Jones and Jerry Flannery all lending their support to this, the worthiest of causes.
Over €1,500 was raised on the day with all monies staying locally to help to fund the services offered by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) in Limerick, including day care, home care, dementia adviser and support groups.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland National Helpline is open six days a week, Monday to Friday 10am–5pm and Saturday 10am–4pm on 1800 341 341. http://www.alzheimer.ie/Home.aspx
