The young players in the Greencore Munster Rugby Academy have made a flying start to the season with Munster and Munster A.

Shane Daly and Diarmuid Barron made their PRO14 debuts for the senior team with Gavin Coombes, Liam Coombes, Jack Daly, Alex McHenry, Sean O’Connor and Jack Stafford all featuring in the Kearys Renault Series.

A number of those players have been prominent in the Celtic Cup too as Munster A have won all three of their games with Eoghan Clarke, Sean French, Ben Healy, Keynan Knox, Matt More and Alan Tynan also starring.

13 Munster Academy players were named in Munster and Munster A squads last weekend with Tynan involved in club action for Young Munster as they fell to a 26-23 loss to Garryowen in the quarter-final of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup.

Munster Rugby Elite Player Development Manager and Munster A Head Coach Peter Malone provides the first Academy Update of the new season below.
