150 Students Attend Concussion Workshop

150 students from Presentation Brothers College, Cork attended a Concussion Awareness Workshop in the school on Monday.
The Workshops are run by the Munster Rugby Development Department, in conjunction with the IRFU.
The presentations have been running since last year with modules that relate to Concussion Recognition Management and Return to Play protocols followed by a Question and Answer session.
A further 86 people attended the second Concussion Awareness Workshop on Monday night including coaches, parents, members of St. John's Ambulance and medical practitioners.
The workshops are designed to educate coaches, parents, players and referees on the dangers of concussion and how to recognise it.
Dr. Garrett Coughlan, the IRFU's Medical Co-ordinator, will host all of the workshops with the next workshop to take place in The Malton Hotel, Killarney in less than two weeks.

All Club and School coaches and officials are encouraged to attend the workshops which are free of charge. Please note places are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis.
There will be three further Concussion Awareness Workshops next month in Killarney, Bandon and Ennis.
The workshops will continue into the new year in Clanwilliam and Limerick IT with a timetable below. Please contact janeburns@munsterrugby.ie to register your place at a workshop.
