Abbeyfeale Host Girls’ Blitz

Abbeyfeale RFC recently hosted their first ever U-13 girls’ blitz.

Along with the hosts, the blitz was attended by teams from Kilrush, St. Mary’s, Fethard, Dingle and Listowel with over 60 girls competing in the 7 a-side games that accommodated the big and small panels alike.

Some of the teams had already met at the last blitz in Fethard so it was an even bigger turnout this time round, showing how girls’ rugby is growing and getting stronger all the time.

A lot of fun was had by all and the weather even stayed dry for the duration of the blitz. A special thanks to the coaches involved for their continued good work and to the referees for their patience and consideration.

As it was Abbeyfeale’s U-13 Girls' first time to play this season it was a great learning experience for the girls and their coaches as they now look forward to their next blitz day in Kilrush on 6th December.
