AIB All Ireland League Results

21st April 2007 By Munster Rugby

Garryowen claimed a place in the final four as Shannon miss out on points difference. Both Young Munster and Clonakilty lose out in their respective Division Two semi finals while Bruff steamed into the Division Three final with a 29-3 win over Ballynahinch.

It was certainly a day of high drama as Shannon and Garryowen both fought to claim a final four spot in the AIB AIL Division One. Despite a try in injury time, and defeating Dolphin 22-19, Shannon weren’t able to secure their semi final spot due to a rampaging Garryowen. Dolphin however came away from the game secure in the knowledge that their place in Division One is secure for next season. Meanwhile Garryowen achieved a tremendous 50-7 win over Galwegians, securing their place in the final four, finishing just five points ahead of Shannon on points difference. In Temple Hill, Cork Constitution enjoyed a 24-17 win over Ballymena, with Richie Lane scoring three penalties and a conversion and tries from Tom Ryan in the 54th minute and Cronan Healy late in the game.

While there wont be a Munster representation in the Division Two final following the defeats today of Young Munster and Clonakilty, Bruff stormed into the Division Three final with a 29-3 win over Ballynahinch. They go onto play Wanderers in the final.
