Garryowen are now in second place in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League a point behind leaders Lansdowne, as Cork Constitution edged out Young Munster with a dramatic side line conversion in the fifth minute of injury time

Garryowen have certainly made the perfect start to the campaign as they finished well clear of Old Belvedere at Dooradoyle.
Flanker Barry O'Mahony was the star as the Limerick side made it three wins from as many starts. He scored three of their tries in a runaway win.
Conan Doyle put the home side on their way with an early try, converted by Jamie Gavin who also converted the first of O'Mahony's tries which made it 14-0 inside as many minutes.
Garryowen led 14-3 at the interval with Stephen Crosbie landing a penalty for the visitors.
Garryowen dominated a lively second half which produced four tries, two to either side.
O'Mahony got a brace for Garryowen to complete his hat-trick and fullback Danny Riordan and Jonathan Slattery crossed for Belvo.
Jamie Gavin kicked a total of fourteen points, four conversions and two penalties.
Stephen Crosbie converted one of the Belvo tries and he also kicked a penalty.

A dramatic injury time conversion from the sideline by out half Johnny Holland ended Young Munster’s unbeaten start to the league as the home side recorded their second win at Temple Hill.
Brian Haugh opened the scoring with a penalty for the visitors after nineteen minutes and Cathal Quinn replied with a Con’ try on thirty four minutes which Holland converted. Six minutes into injury time in the opening half Sean Duggan gave Munster’s an 8-7 interval lead with a try.
Two Haugh penalties extended the Limerick side’s advantage early in the second half, but a try by Ivan Dineen converted by Holland had the sides level on sixty two minutes.
Haugh made it 20-14 with two further penalties and five minutes into injury time Dineen got in at the corner for his second try and Holland converted.

Shannon's poor start to the campaign continued when they went under to Dolphin at Coonagh.
Fly half Barry Keeshan was top scorer for the Cork side who led 14-6 at the interval thanks to being awarded a penalty try after seven minutes and flanker Rob O'Herlihy had another after 21 minutes.
Rob Guerin had an early penalty for Shannon after three minutes.
The many times champions got to within four points of the visitors sixteen minutes into the second half thanks to a try by James Loxton to leave it 17-13 for Dolphin. The winger made a great break down
the left to touch down but that was as good as it got for Shannon.
The Cork side had a late try by Christy Condon in a game in which Shannon had only 13 for a spell in the second half following two yellow cards for professional fouls while Dolphin had a player sin-binned in the first half for repeatedly roaming off-side.

Clontarf got their first win of the season with a deserved victory over U.L. Bohemian at Castle Avenue.
It was a closely contested first half with the home side leading 16-10 at the interval. Mossy Lawlor and Sean Rennison scored tries for the Limerick side.

In Division 2A U.C.C. defeated Old Crescent 49-21 at Rosbrien in a game that produced twelve tries. The students led 25-7 at the break and had tries from Brian Quill, Dan Horgan, Cathal Gallagher, Olan Dennehy, Peter McCabe, Daryl Foley and Willie Ryan. Sean Og Murphy kicked two penalties and four conversions. Crescent replied with two tries from Alan Bennie and one each by Graham O’Keeffe, Will Hanly and Brendan Guilfoyle with Alan McNulty kicking three conversions.

Cashel lost their unbeaten record when they went down to Corinthians 19-7 in their top of the table clash at Corinthian Park. Brendan O’Connor scored a try for the Tipperary side and Pat O’Connor converted.

Highfield were defeated 48-19 by leaders Banbridge at Rifle Park. Cyprian Jouve, Dave Kelly and Don Keogh scored tries for the visitors and Paddy O’Toole added two conversions.

Trailing 9-5 at half time Seapoint came with a second half rally to claim the points at Towns Park with a 15-12 win over Midleton. Paul Daly kicked four penalties for the home side.

Nenagh Ormond moved into a challenging position in Division 2B with 34-8 away win over bottom of the table Connemara. Donal Fogarty scored a try, penalty, drop goal and four conversions for the visitors. David Corcoran scored two tries and Stephen Carey one.

Thomond put up a battling performance away to Instonians but lost out 16-15. Richie Ryan Eoin O’Neill scored tries for Thomond and John Lillis kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Leading 19-7 at half time with tries from Mark Purcell, David Lombard and Kieran Howlin and two conversions from James Deasy looked like giving Clonakilty their first win of the season but a late penalty by Deasy secured the visitors a losing bonus point as they went down 31-15.

There was no joy for Sunday’s Well at Musgrave Park as they had to play second fiddle to a much stronger and robust Rainey Old Boys pack as they lost 43-10.
