It was a great day for Cork clubs as holders Cork Constitution qualifed for the All Ireland Division 1A Final and U.C.C. were promoted to the top flight.

At Lakelands Park, Cork Constitution defeated Terenure College 22-15 to set up a meeting with league table toppers Lansdowne in the Aviva Stadium next Sunday.

Evan Mintern and JJ O’Neill scored tries for Cork Constitution and Tomas Quinlan kicked four penalties.

In the other semi-final at the Aviva Stadium, Lansdowne were 36-19 winners over Garryowen. Liam Cronin was Garryowen’s try scorer and his brother Neil kicked a conversion and four penalties.

U.C.C. won their Division 1B promotion final at Rifle Park against Banbridge on a 15-10 scoreline.

A penalty from James Taylor and a John Hodnett try gave College an 8-3 interval lead. Paul Kiernan scored his side’s second try and Taylor converted to send College into the top flight next season.

Nenagh Ormond lost the Division 2A Promotion play-off final for the second year running when they lost away to City of Armagh 33-23.

John Healy scored a try for Nenagh and they were also awarded a penalty try. Clayton Stewart kicked three penalties and a conversion for the Tipperary side.

Terenure College 15, Cork Constitution 22;

All Ireland League Division 1B Promotion Play-Off Final: Banbridge 10, U.C.C. 15;

Division 2A Promotion Play-Off Final: City of Armagh 33, Nenagh Ormond 23;
Division 2B Promotion Play-Off Final: Rainey Old Boys 14, Navan 16;
Division 2C Promotion Play-Off Final: Belfast Harlequins 26, Omagh 20;
