All You Need To Know | International Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup

The International Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup gets underway on Sunday, June 5th at Musgrave Park and runs until Friday, June 10th.

The tournament will be held at Musgrave Park with games taking place across three different pitches; the Musgrave Park pitch, the Sunday’s Well pitch and the Dolphin pitch.

There are three Munster based mixed ability teams competing at the International Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup; the Sunday’s Well Rebels, the West Cork Jesters and the Ballincollig Trailblazers.

Tickets for the International Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup are free but they must be pre-booked here.

Tickets must also be secured for the opening ceremony which takes place on Sunday June 5th. Tickets can be pre-booked here.

Did you know?

IMART 2022 will be the biggest tournament to date with 24 men’s teams competing for the overall Winners Trophy as well as the much coveted Spirit of Trophy.

This will be the first time that a Women’s Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament is held as part of IMART.

The Sunday’s Well Rebels are the first Mixed Ability Rugby team that was formed in Ireland.

The Ballincollig Trailblazers are the first Mixed Ability Women’s Rugby team in Ireland.

The West Cork Jesters not only have an adult mixed ability rugby team but they also have a women’s and underage section. The female Jesters players will join up with the Ballincollig Trailblazers for the inaugural women’s tournament.

The competition was originally meant to be held in 2020 but was postponed due to Covid-19.

Teams will be arriving from 15 different countries from all over the world.
