Ard Scoil & Crescent Advance to Avonmore Milk Schools Junior Final

Holders Crescent College Comprehensive will meet Ard Scoil Ris in the Final of the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup after victory in today’s semi finals.
Crescent College Comprehensive 22, Glenstal Abbey 6.
Glenstal’s great Cup run came to a halt at Clanwilliam Park as defending champions Crescent Comp. had to battle all the way for their place in the final.
The Holders got off to a great start with Mike O’Donnell putting them ahead with a try in the opening minute and Greg O’Shea converted.
Glenstal’s skipper Kevin O’Keeffe brought his sided back in contention with two penalties but winger James Beary extended Crescent’s advantage with a try in the corner to leave it 12-6 at half time.
Crescent skipper Gearoid Lyons put his side further ahead with a penalty early in the second half.
Winger Jack Hogan completed the scoring with a try in the final minute which Lyons converted.

In a low scoring semi final at Dooradoyle, Ard Scoil Ris booked their place in the final of the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup on a two to one penalty count.
This was an exciting game up to the finish but Ard Scoil Ris just about deserved their place in the decider. Stephen Fitzgerald put Ard Scoil ahead with a penalty after seven minutes and that was to be the only score of the opening half.
A minute into the second half Ard Scoil Ris number 8 Paul Obande was shown a yellow card but Castletroy were unable to make their numerical strength count. However a minute after Obande’s return Conor Linehan levelled the tie with a penalty.
Fifteen minutes into the half Fitzgerald restored Ard Scoil Ris’ s advantage with a penalty.
In the last minute of the game Castletroy’s replacement Stephen Power saw his touch line penalty effort just miss the target to level the scores, much to the delight of the Ard Scoil Ris followers.
