Arnold and McCarthy on hand as M&S Emerging Schools programme continues in Clare & Tipp
20th February 2017 By Munster Rugby
Another fantastic day’s rugby in Tipperary and Clare, where Munster players Sam Arnold and Sean McCarthy were on hand to witness.
Last week we brought you all the action from the Marks & Spencer Emerging Schools blitzes down in West Cork and Kerry, this time it’s the turn of Clare and Tipperary to show off their schools with two Munster players in attendance.
Last week Sam Arnold and Sean McCarthy were in Cashel RFC with Coaching Development Officer Euan Gee as the Premier County saw the penultimate stage of its Emerging Schools blitz set up an enthralling finale in a few weeks’ time.
Boys from Cashel Community college, Nenagh College, Nenagh CBS, St Ailbies Tipperrary Townn The Abbey Tipperary Town, and Coláiste Mhuire Co-Education school were on hand to display their talents to the two Munster lads, fresh after defeating the Dragons the week previous.
It was a fantastic day’s rugby, and the boys were delighted to see some of Munster’s first-team stars pay them a visit, as they continued their incredible run last Saturday against the Ospreys.
In Clare it was the turn of St Anne’s Killaloe, Shannon’s St Caimans and St Patrick’s schools, St Michael’s Kilmihill and Rice College Ennis, who continued to show the rugby talent that exists on the far side of the Shannon.
This is the second year of the Emerging Schools programme, which is growing from strength-to-strength, giving hundreds of pupils the opportunity to face off against each other in small sided games. Munster Rugby would like to thank Marks & Spencer for their ongoing support of this initiative.
