The coaches taking part in the face-to-face course had completed online pre-course content with World Rugby. All of those in attendance enjoyed the day and many outlined their intention to progress further on the Conditioning for Rugby Learning Pathway.
The course is designed to provide coaches with a basic knowledge and understanding and a foundation of practical skills with regards to conditioning practices for the youth rugby player.
The course consists of 5 modules:
- Long term athlete development
- Functional screening
- Game demands, warm-up, and recovery
- Preparing for resistance training
- Speed and agility
The coaches in attendance work throughout the province including schools, senior clubs, junior clubs, age-grade clubs and women’s teams.
