Ballina/Killaloe RFC Host Primary Schools Blitz

Ballina NS, Killaloe Boys NS, Killaloe Girls NS, Bridgetown NS and Ogonnelloe NS all test their rugby skills after their recent coaching programme.

As the M&S Emerging Schools blitzes continue at secondary level in County Clare, Club and Community Rugby
Manager Tyrone Elliot was in Clarisford Park, Killaloe, to oversee the Primary school blitzes in the county.

Ballina NS, Killaloe Boys NS, Killaloe Girls NS, Bridgetown NS and Ogonnelloe NS were in attendance, putting their skills on display having taken part in an invaluable coaching programme run across the five primary schools in the area.

These schools are all essential parts in the beginning of development in a county which continues to provide top-level rugby; current Academy player John Foley just one example of Banner County representation.

Ballina-Killaloe RFC operated as a Junior 1/Thirds club from 1970 to 1997. It was revived in 2002, fielding mini rugby teams and currently has teams from U7/8 to U12 at Mini level, and combines with Newport RFC and Scariff RFC at youth levels, U13 and U14.

They also have Girls teams at U13/U15 and U18 with training on Friday nights.
