Bandon Host Concussion Workshop Tonight
2nd December 2014 By Munster Rugby
Bandon RFC is the venue tonight for the next Concussion Awareness workshop hosted by the Munster Rugby Development Department, in conjunction with the IRFU.
The seminar begins at 7:30pm and follows on from Monday night's workshop in Killarney (below) that was attended by 32 participants.
The Workshops have been running since last year and this will be the fourth seminar to take place in recent weeks with 236 people attending the first two workshops in Cork earlier this month.
All Club and School coaches and officials are encouraged to attend the workshops which are free of charge.
Dr. Garrett Coughlan, the IRFU's Medical Coordinator, hosts all of the workshops which will include modules relating to Concussion Recognition Management and Return to Play protocols followed by a Question and Answer session.
The content has been designed to educate coaches, parents, players and referees on the dangers of concussion and how to recognise it.
Please note places are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis. There will be a further Concussion Awareness Workshop at Ennis RFC on Wednesday, December 10.
The workshops will continue into the new year in Clanwilliam and Limerick IT with a timetable below. Please contact janeburns@munsterrugby.ie to register your place at a workshop.
