Rounds 1 and 2 were seeded as has been the practice in the past few seasons and were based on clubs standings at the end of last season.

Clubs that play and lose in Round 2 will play in the Munster Junior Plate (dates are 12th February, 26th February, 26th March, and final 9th April).

The competition gets underway on the 8th January, with the second round scheduled for 29th January.

The third round is scheduled for Sunday 12th February where all the remaining sides enter the competition.

Defending champions Young Munster begin their campaign with a short trip across the city to St. Mary’s.

Beaten finalists Thomond will be away to the winners of the Round 2 meeting of Thurles or Cashel.

Other ties that catch the eye are the meeting of Kilfeacle at home to Cork Constitution, Bandon host Highfield, and Garryowen against Old Christians.
