The semi-finals of the Bank Of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup get underway tonight as Old Crescent meet Clonmel in Takumi Park at 8pm.
Old Crescent had a smooth enough road to the finals as they were drawn in the three team Group Four with two Cork sides in Dolphin RFC and Midleton.
The Takumi Park natives kicked off their campaign with a bonus point win over Dolphin with a scoreline of 31-26.
They also defeated current AIL Division 2C table toppers Midleton 14-24 in Tanner Park to top their group.
Clonmel found themselves in Group 3 this season with Cashel, Bruff and UL Bohemians.
They began their journey with a 44-22 win over Bruff.
They then went on to beat Cashel 21-15 and UL Bohs 12-43.
This allowed the Tipperary natives to top their table and go straight through to the semi-finals.
In the other semi-final, which kicks off Friday night at 8pm in Tom Clifford Park, we’ll see a repeat of the 2023 final as Young Munster meet Nenagh Ormond.
Cookies were drawn in Group Two this season with last year’s winners Garryowen and UCC.
A tough group for the side they opened up their campaign by defeating the reigning champions by just two points with a score line of 31-33.
They then went on to beat UCC 49-24.
Nenagh Ormond topped Group One in an exciting fashion by overcoming AIL champions Cork Constitution, Highfield and Shannon.
First up was a trip to Cork to take on Highfield with Nenagh taking their first win with a scoreline of 22-29
They then took on Cork Con in New Ormond Park who they beat comfortably with a scoreline of 31-12.
They then travelled to Coonagh and defeated Shannon 5-45.
