27th April 2016 By Munster Rugby
Students from Glenstal Abbey School and Cashel Community College took part in a Bank of Ireland Schools Camp yesterday at Thomond Park Stadium.
The day began with a Questions and Answers session with Munster player Jack O’Donoghue who spoke about his experience on being a professional rugby player, while also giving the young players tips and advice on their own playing development.
The school players then took to the pitch to take part in a rugby skills session coordinated by Munster Community Rugby Officers Andy Brace and Euan Gee.
Following the skills module focusing on continuity and contact, catch/pass and decision making techniques, the 45 participants ended the pitch session with a match friendly.
The day concluded with an educational talk on how to maximise performance through Nutrition as part of the IRFU ‘Eat To Compete’ model.
