The Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp got underway in Limerick and Cork yesterday, with U19, U18, U17 and U16 talent squads beginning their journey as the newest Munster recruits.
The High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick plays host to the Munster U19 side, and the Munster U18 Clubs and Schools squad, with players benefitting from the professional facilities throughout the summer months.
The camp provides an opportunity for coaches to see how players adapt to the professional environment, and have a closer look at the talent already identified for the various age-grades.
Programmes will include on-pitch activities, strength and conditioning sessions, and player welfare tutorials focusing on diet and nutritional needs.
The Munster U18 Clubs and Schools squad have already focused on team building, taking part in various activities with Get West Kayaking and Escape Room, Limerick.
The Munster U18 Girls squad also kicked-off their talent camp at the University of Limerick and the Cork Institute of Technology yesterday, along with the Munster U16 and U17 sides.
The Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp will incorporate preparations for the upcoming interprovincial campaigns commencing in the coming months while also giving players, coaches and management a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with their squads.
Throughout the camp it is envisaged that players will be identified for future development programmes as part of Munster Rugby’s overall objective in building for the future.
