Bank of Ireland Talent Camps Begin

The boys getting down to work in the High Performance Centre gym

The beginning of a long and hopefully fruitful road for the newest Munster recruits yesterday, as they began the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp.

This season brings a change of venue for the players, who now join their professional Munster counterparts at the High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick, benefitting from the fantastic facilities on the banks of the Shannon.

The camp incorporates players from U19 level, as well as potential players for the Munster U18 Schools and Munster U18 Club sides, as the coaches look to see how the players adapt to a professional environment, and have a closer look at the talent already identified for the levels.

Programmes will include on-pitch activities, strength and conditioning sessions, and player welfare tutorials focusing on diet and nutritional needs.

The Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp will incorporate preparations for the upcoming interprovincial campaigns commencing in the coming months while also giving players, coaches and management a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with their  squads.

Throughout the camp it is envisaged that players will be identified for future development programmes as part of Munster Rugby’s overall objective in building for the future.
