Blitz Days Complete Clubs & Schools Summer Programmes
25th August 2016 By Munster Rugby
Last Monday the Munster clubs Under 16 Cadets completed their summer programme with an inter-regional blitz day at Charleville RFC.
The emphasis of the blitz was to identify player development and progression following their eight week summer development programme.
This programme involved Skills, S&C and generic Rugby Development in the four training centres of North, South, East and West Munster.
This was the first opportunity for the players to showcase their progressions and developments following the programme before they go back to school.
The rugby on display was highly impressive and the results from the summer programme was easily identifiable.
The 11 a-side format allowed the players to express themselves and emphasised a focus on their rugby skills and general understanding of special awareness.
Initially the players played two games within their regions and thereafter combined with other regions to complete the day’s games.
Schools Cadets 2016
The schools cadets finalised their summer programme on Tuesday with a 10-aside blitz in Castletroy College, Limerick.
This also provided the schools players with an opportunity to identify their progressions following an 8 week summer programme.
Munster Rugby would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers that took part in the programme for their contributions over the summer months.
