Blitz Roundup | Age-Grade Blitzes Taking Place Throughout The Province

It has been a busy few weeks across the province with the Rugby Development department hosting a number of blitzes.

These blitzes have a strong focus on participation with many players getting their first taste of rugby.

Short-form editions of the game are promoted to provide more space for players which benefits their introduction to the sport.

Some of the blitzes which have taken place include an emerging school blitz in Castleisland RFC which saw schools from Dingle, Killorglin and Castleisland attend.

Last week, an emerging schools blitz was held in Bruff in Co. Limerick with some of the schools attending including Thomond Community College, St Anne’s Community College Killaloe, Salesian Pallaskenry, Scoil Pól Kilfinane and St Joseph’s CBS Nenagh.

Last Thursday a blitz was held in Musgrave Park which saw schools including Carrigtwohill Community College, Midleton College, Midleton CBS, St Colmans Fermoy, Ballincollig Community School, Mitchelstown CBS and Clonakilty College attend. Schools fielded sides at U15 and U17 level.
