The Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup final takes place this Friday 19 January at Markets Field (kick-off 7.30pm) between UL Bohemian and Garryowen.

We catch up with the squad captains ahead of Friday’s showdown between two of Limerick’s traditional rivals.

Ian Condell, Bohemian RFC Captain:

“As a squad we are very much looking forward to playing in the Munster Senior Challenge Cup Final. We know how prestigious a trophy it is, and it has been a long time since our club raised the Cup, so it would be a great privilege to do so.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and supporters so far this season, it is greatly appreciated and hopefully we can do them proud in the final.”

Neil Cronin, Garryowen FC Captain:

“It has been quite a successful season so far. We’ve had a good run in the league and we want to build on that in the final.

“We are delighted to be in the final of the Munster Senior Challenge Cup as it means a lot to everyone in the club.

“A huge amount of thanks must go to the committee and supporters at Garryowen, it’s because of them we as players get to represent such a proud and prestigious club week in and week out.

“Lastly, a sincere thanks to the coaches at Garryowen FC, so much work is needed from them to get us to this stage in the competition and we most definitely wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.”
