Cashel RFC Host Martin Ferncombe Memorial Blitz

Cashel RFC hosted a large U12s blitz on the October Bank Holiday weekend which saw over 300 children take part on the day.

The tournament was organised in honour of the late Martin Ferncombe who was an inspirational coach to a lot of the young players in the club before he passed away. Martin coached Minis in the club and was also involved in many fundraising efforts over the years.

Teams from five different counties were represented on the day and included Cashel, Shannon, Old Crescent, UL Bohemian, Dolphin, Waterpark, Midleton, Portumna, Old Christians, Nenagh and Clonmel.

The matches were 12-a-side with seven minutes halves and rolling substitutions included.

An award was presented to the team which demonstrated the best values of the game on the day.

A contribution was made to Pieta House in remembrance of Martin.
