Castletroy Through To Munster Schools Junior Cup Semi-Final

Three tries saw Castletroy run out 17-7 winners over St Clement’s College at 4GUL this afternoon to secure a semi-final spot in this year’s Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup.

It was St. Clement’s who dominated possession in the opening stages, but Castletroy took the lead on seven minutes when hooker Robert Magill went in for a try and Andrew Shanahan converted.

Approaching half time Clements levelled with a try by Dylan Counihan and Evan Barrett converted.

Castletroy hit back immediately with Rory Murphy putting them back in front 12-7 with a try.

Barrett was off target with a penalty attempt on the stroke of half time for Clement’s to leave the score 12-7 at the interval in Castletroy’s favour.

Castletroy dominated the second half and a second try by Murphy mid way through the half made sure of their passage into the semi finals on a 17-7 scoreline.
