It was a rivalry renewed once again this afternoon as CBC took on PBC for the lucrative Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup.

It was the current title holders PBC who got scoring underway in a sun soaked Virgin Media Park as winger Bobby O’Callaghan ran in in the 15th minute. Out half Daniel Murphy added the extras.

Pres were on the board again just eight minutes later as Murphy booted a penalty between the uprights.

At half time there was just 10 points separating the sides as PBC lead 0-10.

Captain Charlie O’Shea put CBC on the score board in the 53rd as he touched down and converted his own try.

With just over 15 minutes on the clock only three points separated the sides.

The tide changed in the 63rd minute as Christians began to fight back ending in a try from Leo O’Leary. A Charlie O’Shea conversion put the Sidney Hill natives ahead with a score of 14-10.

Captain Charlie O’Shea sealed CBCs faith in the final minutes of the game with a penalty to bring the final score to 17-10.

CBC are crowned champions for the 32nd time and are now once again level with fellow finalists PBC.
