CCRO Induction Day Held In Musgrave Park

A view of last week's CCRO Induction Day held in Musgrave Park

Last week, Munster Rugby held an induction day at Musgrave Park for this season’s Club & Community Rugby Officers (CCROs).

The CCROs will be working with clubs and schools across the province over the next eight months, introducing rugby into the school through PE classes and helping to link the schools with their local clubs.

The role of a CCRO is very important as they are one of the first links between the schools and the clubs.

The induction day allowed the CCROs to plan their schedules for the coming season and also to go through the various drills and games that they will be implementing with the playing groups throughout the year.

These drills and games are designed with the aim that the players experience maximum enjoyment and a love of the sport.

There was also an opportunity for the CCROs to conduct their own internal workshops where discussions were held on what worked well last year and it allowed the opportunity to present solutions to challenges which can arise.

This year, there will be 24 CCROs working throughout the province with an additional four college officers.
