Christians Win Sixteenth Schools Junior Cup Title

C.B.C. regained the Avonmore SuperMilk Munster Schools Junior Cup title after an eight year gap with a deserved victory at Musgrave Park.
C.B.C. 18, Ardscoil Ris 6.
There were scenes of joy at Musgrave Park for the students of Christian Brothers College after they won the Schools Junior Cup for the sixteenth time. While for Ardscoil Ris it was back to back defeats following their defeat to Crescent in last season’s final.
Christians out half Michael O’Halloran opened the scoring with a penalty after three minutes but his opposite number David O’Mahony had the sides level five minutes later.
Tries by Evan Mintern and Jamie Murphy in the final few minutes of the opening half and a conversion from O’Halloran left it 15-3 in favour of C.B.C. side at half time.
O’Mahony kicked his second penalty early in the second half but there was to be no come back by Ardscoil Ris.
O’Halloran completed the scoring with a penalty for Christians six minutes from time.
