CIT Rugby Progress

C.I.T. Senior men’s team have progressed to the All- Ireland Division 1 semi-final, following a 27-3 win over U.L. yesterday.

First half tries from Chris O’ Donnell and Michael Deane put CIT 12 points ahead inside the opening 20 minutes, with a conversion by Darragh O’ Keeffe.

U.L. fought back and were on the scoreboard before the half was out, but a penalty from Darragh O’ Keeffe sent CIT into the half with a 15-3 lead.

CIT had a strong start to the second half, with a converted try from inspirational captain Chris O’ Donnell. A strong team effort saw Miah Cronin get over the line to add the final points to the score board. The win has set up a semi final clash against Athlone IT for next Wednesday the 7th of March.
