Clancy to Referee in Tri Nations

Bruff RFC’s George Clancy will take charge of his first Tri Nations game this summer when Australia host South Africa on July 24th.

Having started his refereeing career in September 2000, George has gone on to referee Magner's Leage, Heineken Cup and eleven international games following his IRB debut in 2006.

In recognition of his successes George was bestowed the honour of “Referee of the Year” at the Annual Munster Rugby Awards in April 2007.

George joins Ireland’s other experienced international referees Alan Lewis and Alain Rolland who will also take charge of a number of Tri Nations games.

Lewis will referee the opening game of the tournament where New Zealand take on South Africa in Auckland on Saturday, July 10th with Rolland taking charge of the second test a week later in Wellington.
