Clare Schools Development Blitz

Clare Schools Development Blitz

On Thursday 26th March a development blitz for first and second year pupils took place in St Senans RFC. This was the second blitz of this type held so far this season.

A total of seven schools and approximately 140 pupils took part on the day. Participating Schools included St Caimins, St Patricks Comp, St Flannans, St John Bosco (Kildysert), Kilkee, Ennistymon Vocational and Rice College Ennis.

A special mention must go to Ennistymon Vocational and Rice College Schools as it was their first time being involved in an event of this type. In fact it is nearly 28 years since Rice College fielded a rugby team.

All the pupils involved were a credit to their schools and coaches and we look forward to future days like these as the children continue to develop their rugby skills.

Members of the Munster Rugby Domestic Game Staff, Noel O Meara, Ed Daly and Colm McMahon, were on hand on the day to assist the teams and referee games. Special thanks also needs to go to Hugh Corcoran of St Senans RFC for once again letting us use their facilities, without which we would not be able to run these important development days.
