Club Development Officer, Connacht

The IRFU Connacht Branch would like to invite applications for the position of Club Development Officer for our Connacht office, whose purpose will be to implement the Connacht Branch IRFU Club Development Programme, to promote clubs development throughout Connacht and to raise the profile of the club game at all levels.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong understanding of the following:
Club development initiatives (in rugby or other sports)
Grant applications e.g. lottery, local authority, educational, Irish Sports Council
Current programmes in place, such as School Club Link programmes, Community Club Outreach programmes, Social Inclusion programmes etc.
Irish Sports Council development topics
General areas of responsibility of the Club Development Officer include:
Implementing and ensuring the ongoing development of the IRFU Club Development Programme and Clubs of Ireland scheme.
Working closely with all clubs to assist with strategic planning, grants applications, marketing campaigns, player/volunteer recruitment and retention and other ventures.
Developing the Volunteer Recognition Programme within the club structure.
Developing a high profile within club rugby through club visits, seminars and other rugby public occasions and conferences.
Assisting the IRFU and the branches in other related rugby development areas.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as exceptional organisational skills and the ability to motivate themselves and others in a team environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is also essential.
