Club Engagement Night Held In Charleville

Munster Rugby held a club engagement event in the Charleville Park Hotel on Monday night as part of the Academy and Development department’s resource and support delivery programme.
Senior club coaches from throughout the province were invited to Charleville for the event which was led by Chairperson of the Professional Game Committee, John Hartery.
The event had contributions from Munster Rugby Head of Rugby Operations Ian Costello, Academy and Pathway Manager Gar Prendergast and Head of Rugby Development Colm McMahon.
A preview of the upcoming season took place with a focus on communication between Munster Rugby and clubs, particularly around the area of Academy and NTS players and reinforcing the alignment between Munster Rugby and its clubs.
Training and game data from the men’s team was shared on the night and also information on the games, drills and activities that are used in training. A template for Talent ID was also shared with the coaches in attendance.
Information was provided on the type of resources that Munster Rugby can provide to clubs throughout the season which includes the availability of coaches from the Academy and Rugby Development departments attending club training sessions throughout the season.
Colm McMahon presented on the Active Coach Badge and how these future CPD coaching events will include presentations from Senior Munster Rugby coaches when they take place later in the season.
Details for future events were also discussed which includes and Open Day for senior club coaches in the HPC on October 13 while a similar event for Schools coaches will also take place.
