The Rugby Academy Programme will take a holistic approach by addressing player capabilities across a number of areas including, diet, nutrition, lifestyle, technical, mental, athletic development and tactical astuteness.
Kinsale Community School Principle, Mr Fergal McCarthy, said: “I’m delighted and grateful that this collaborative process with Kinsale Rugby Club and Munster Rugby will provide the students at Kinsale Community School with the opportunity to participate and excel in another area of sport.
“The sports resources available at Kinsale Community School are at a university standard and in that regard it is magnificent that our students will get the opportunity to widen their skill-set and develop their sporting prowess while representing Kinsale Community School on the rugby field.”
Kinsale Rugby Football Club President, Kim Kerins, said: “This is a momentous occasion for the history of rugby in Kinsale. It is our mission that everyone has the opportunity to play and enjoy rugby, and we are very grateful to Fergal and the team at KCS for partnering with us to make this happen.”
