Club Notes: Galbally RFC Host First Ever Girls Minis Blitz

Galbally RFC's rugby minis held their first ever underage girls blitz last Sunday 22 January.

Our latest edition of club notes comes from Galbally RFC.

Galbally RFC’s rugby minis held their first ever underage girls blitz last Sunday 22 January.

They had both U10 and U12 teams attend. There were six U10 teams that took part; Shannon, Fethard, Old Crescent, Mallow, and Galbally had two teams on the day.

There were nine U12 teams; Galbally, Garryowen, Shannon, Old Crescent, Nenagh, Ballina/Killaloe, Fethard, Mallow and Bruff.

They each played three to four games on the day and there was a great turnout with approximately 10-14 on each team. It was a great success and hopefully its the first of many blitzes that Galbally host for girls players.

Galbally have two underage girls teams at the moment in U10 and U12 but we are building on these numbers every week and aim to have a girls team at each age group in the future.

The girls train every Sunday morning 10.30-11.30 with the Minis, and every Tuesday evening 7-8 on their own.

They welcome new players all the time and if anyone is interested in joining one of the teams, you can contact Amie Sheehan on 087-9428629.
