A huge day of rugby ahead this Saturday (A Super Saturday) for our U14 and U16 boys as they contest their respective West Munster Cup Finals. Both matches take place at Tralee RFC and both teams face Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne in what promises to be two brilliant matches. All support very welcome so please try and get to O’Dowd Park to support both teams. Best of luck to all players and coaches. U14 kick off proceedings at 2.30pm while our U16s kick off at 4:15pm.

Lily Morris represents Ireland U18:

A huge congrats to our own Lily Morris who represented Ireland in England over the past week and a half, taking part in the U18 Six Nations tournament. Lily played in all games and scored tries against England and Scotland and is joint top scorer from Ireland for the tournament. We are so proud of you Lily! Very well done!

Members of Killarney RFC win Tropical 7s Girls Rugby Tournament

By Diarmuid O’Malley

Several rugby players from Killarney RFC joined up with the US based Hawkeyes teams earlier this month in Tampa, Florida to play in the Tropical 7s Rugby 7s tournament. Played in the searing Florida heat the players acquitted themselves very well in the international tournament.

Beaufort girl Clodagh Foley played in the U18s competition and won the plate while Listrys Emjay Leslie and Beaufort boy Luke O’Malley played in the U14s boys competition.

Fia Whelan and Ava O’Malley played in the U16s girls competition that was coached by Diarmuid O’ Malley and Josh Whelan. They managed to win the tournament outright, playing some exceptional rugby in the process. The team was made up from girls from Fiji, USA and Samoa.

Coach O’Malley added,  “What was so interesting about this group is that the girls just met for trials on the Wednesday before the tournament and gelled immediately.

“The standard of rugby they played was off the charts but more important they all learned so much from the experience and have now formed friendships which will last a lifetime.”
