26th May 2021 By The Editor
Former Ireland international Marie Louise Reilly will take up a coaching role with Kerry Rugby women’s team.
‘Maz’ earned 54 caps for Ireland and she first took up the sport when she attended Tralee IT before lining out with Navan RFC, Old Belvedere RFC and Leinster.
Throughout her playing career, Reilly won two Six Nations championships, including the historic Grand Slam in 2013. She also played in the famous victory over New Zealand at the World Cup in 2014.
‘Maz’ will now bring her experience of coaching with Old Belvedere RFC and Leinster to Kerry Rugby.
The club say they are delighted to welcome Reilly to their coaching team:
“Kerry ladies rugby are delighted to welcome former Irish International Marie Louise Reilly to the coaching team. Maz brings a wealth of playing experience and coaching knowledge with her on this new journey. Looking forward to a great year of rugby.”
Kerry Rugby were formed last year and the team includes players from Abbeyfeale, Listowel, Tralee and Killarney. The team won their first match against Ballincollig RFC in the Community Series last year before Covid-19 brought an end to the season.
