Club Notes | Munster Rugby In The Antarctic
19th February 2025 By The Edit

Karina Leahy, daughter of the late Patrick Leahy of Charleville RFC, took supporting Munster to a whole new level earlier this month as she travelled south to the fifth largest continent in the world, Antarctica.
While on her trip to the most southerly place on the planet Karina made sure to pack two essential items. These were her father’s Munster flag and his hipflask which he regularly took to matches to matches over the years.
Karina wanted to share the images to not only show her support to the province but also in memory of her father.
Speaking about her dad Karina said:
“He was a devout Munster supporter and did a lot of work with the Munster Junior Branch as well as being involved in his beloved Charleville RFC.”
It’s not often you see a Munster flag flying through the icebergs.
We would like to thank Karina and her husband for sharing these images and for continuing to support Munster Rugby wherever they go.
