Old Crescent RFC are delighted to announce that club member and former player, Sean Madigan, Managing Director of SM Safety Ltd, will take on the role of Covid-19 Club Safety Officer.

Making the announcement, Club President, Paul Donnellan, said: “We are fortunate to have someone of Sean’s experience and expertise in the Health and Safety field in this important role.”

Sean has over 20 years of experience in various disciplines of health and safety along with project management across several sectors including manufacturing, construction and retail. He was also top All Ireland League try scorer for Old Crescent RFC in his playing days.

Under the IRFU’s Return to Rugby Guidelines, every rugby club must appoint a Covid-19 Club Safety Officer whose first task is to carry out a Covid-19 Club Risk Assessment and then lead the preparation of a Covid-19 Club Safety Plan.

The Old Crescent RFC Covid-19 Club Safety Plan will outline the specific measures to be implemented to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission in the Club.

Old Crescent RFC’s primary concern is the safety of members, players, supporters and visitors, and our return to rugby will be guided by IRFU and Government Return to Sport guidelines.
