Club Notes | UL Bohemian & Garryowen

There was big news on the coaching front for UL Bohemian and Garryowen in recent weeks with a number of new appointments.
Former Ireland international and Munster Women’s Assistant Coach Fiona Hayes has been confirmed as the new Head Coach of the UL Bohs Women’s team for 2023/24.
The Limerick native finished up as Head Coach of Ballincollig in late December 2022 having overseen their first two campaigns in the Energia All-Ireland League.
There is also a big appointment for the UL Bohemians men’s team with former Munster prop and World Cup-winning Springbok BJ Botha named as their new Head Coach.
Botha played for Munster between 2011 and 2016, making an impressive 111 appearances for the province. He was a World Cup winner with South Africa in 2007 and has previously worked as Forwards Coach at the club.
Garryowen FC have introduced a quality new-look coaching team for the 2023/25 season.
John Staunton is Director of Rugby with Munster scrum-half Neil Cronin taking on a player/attack coach role. Mark Butler is the Defence Coach, Neil Lucey is Forwards Coach and Damien O’Donoghue is Athletic Performance Coach.
