Midleton 24 – 0 Old Crescent:
It was a very wet and windy day at Towns Park for the resumption of the 2014/15 UBL. Midleton got the show underway playing into the wind. Old Crescent attack making use of the wind to get the ball down to the Midleton line but very strong defensive play with good discipline means that their attempts to get an early score are thwarted. Eventually Midleton are forced into a mistake and it's a chance for 3 points for the visitors. The attempt is off the up-right and gathered by Midleton, Old Crescent turn over but then knock on and it's a scrum to Midleton in front of their own posts and a chance to clear the lines. ""

Old Crescent seems to be camping in the Midleton half aided by a prevailing wind but with no return for their efforts.

The Midleton defence holds well, and eventually Midleton turn it around and are pressing into the Crescent half. Good dogged attacking play sees Midleton moving closer to the try line, and with an Old Crescent knock on it's a scrum under the posts.

Midleton get the better push on and its down to the Rob Smyth to touch down for the 1st try of the game. Paul Daly converts and it's Midleton 7 Old Crescent 0 after about 25 minutes.

The conditions tell all really and that's the only score of the first half. Into the second half and Midleton come out attacking. After about 10 minutes it's a penalty chance that Daly puts over to stretch the lead to 10 points.

Old Crescent come back putting on the pressure, but Midleton stand strong and eventually are threatening the Old Crescent line again. It's a line out to Midleton just outside, caught well and mauled over for the second try of the day. Again the boot of Daly is true and the score is now 17 to Midleton.

It's a battle in the middle from the restart until again the home side put on the pressure. The final score of the day is the result of a nice run from Louis Farnham on the wing to see the score at 22, with Daly getting 4 from 4 to make it 24 to 0 for Midleton at the full-time whistle.
""
A dogged display by the men from Midleton that sees them move to 5th in the table after 3 wins from 4 outings. A great start to the season and a platform to build on, the team, 1 to 20 all had a contribution to make and did their Jersey and themselves proud. Our next game is away to Greystones then its home in 2 weeks to Boyne.

Make sure you are in Towns Park on the 15th November to shout on this great bunch of lads.

Other News:
A very busy day on the Mini rugby front with Bantry, Dunmanway and Muskerry all travelling to Midleton for a blitz across multiple ages.

We were delighted to welcome all, especially given the weather and a special thanks to Bantry and Dunmanway given the distance they travelled. Despite the weather the event was a great success.

Spirited Effort By The Blues:
On Sunday last, Kilfeacle RFC travelled south, to play a very physical Old Christians side. This is a fixture The Blues have struggled with in recent years, but were hoping to end the streak this year on the back of some very good performances.

Kilfeacle started with the wind and went 3-0 up early on with a Darren Lowry penalty. The home side, determined not to be out-muscled on home turf, took the lead shortly afterwards with a try from their number 8, after a series of pick and go's. Showing some good defensive line speed, Kilfeacle's Jason Flitterstones intercepted a poor Christian's pass under their posts to touch down. Lowry converted to leave the score 7-10 approaching half time.

Just before the interval however, after immaturity at scrum time on their own line, Kilfeacle conceded possession to allow the home sides number 8 touch down his second of the day. The outhalf duly converted leaving the half-time score 14-10.

The Blues started the 2nd half the brighter, but managed to knock on over the Christians try line, to the despair of the travelling supporters. The away teams' pressure paid off though, when Wallace Bourke touched down in the corner after good play from the Kilfeacle backline. Old Christians, aided by a very physical pack, were not to be outdone and scored a try in the corner, after at least 20 phases, with 10 minutes to go.

Kilfeacle managed to acquire a losing bonus point out of a game that could have gone either way. The Blues always looked dangerous when spreading the ball wide against a sizeable home team and there are many positives to be taken out of the game. Keith Bourke, JJ Cooney, Darren Lowry and Diarmuid O'Donnell all had strong performances on the day. Next Sunday, Kilfeacle travel to Clonakilty. All support would be greatly appreciated.

St.Senans (Shannon Town) 11 Newcastle West 36
We travelled to Shannon town last Sunday with a lot of trepidation and caution as the home side have always put it up to us, the score line may not look like it but put it up to us they did.

We got our first score after five minutes from Dave Foley after pressure created from a lineout after Conor had kicked us to the corner.
""
It seemed like this was going to be a walk in the park, but this is not how it panned out for most of the first half, we allowed them back in to the game and were making basic errors which gave them two converted penalties in the twentieth and twenty fifth minute.

They have a very fast backline and if it were not for the tackling of the back row and the backs they would have crossed the line on two occasions. The Newcastle West team were dominating up front and kept Senan's on the back foot.

Padraig Fogarty takes the line-out for Newcastle West

A penalty in the forty third minute and Sean kicks to the corner for a line out, there is concern in the middle of the field for Gary O Donnell but after a few minutes he joins the line out and takes the ball brilliantly and crashes over the line for a great set piece try, Sean converts and makes the halftime score 6-14.It was a grinding first half and the defensive work of the full team was excellent.

The second half started at a blistering pace quick ball from the base of the scrum, hands from Sean to Conor, skip pass to Sean Neville and he takes out three players to touch down for a well-deserved try. It was Sean again who scored eight minutes later from a great carry by James Corbett who was playing the game of his life, linking with TJ, Michael and Davy put us in the Senan's half creating a quick tap penalty and out to the right with Sean storming through.Senans got a try in the sixteenth minute to make it 11-24.

The continued to attack in waves and again the defence stood solid to the end. Stephen Kelly got a try on seventy five by just clear speed down the left wing and looping around the defence, Sean converted. The last say went to Tommy Kelleher who go on the end of another back move and scored in the corner after great drive by the powerhouse winger James Kelly.

The forwards had to work hard all day and probably gave their best performance to date, the back line has gelled very well and they are playing more like a unit now. Man of the match was the baby of the team James Corbett who gave a fantastic display in scrum, line out ball retention and carrying. We now top the league and are ahead by two points.

If you want to get on board this train, please join us on Saturdays or Sundays in Cullinagh, where we have two teams going extremely well to date

Thurles First XV Munster Junior League Div 2:
Castleisland 29 – 21 Thurles

The Thurles First XV took to the road early on Sunday morning en route to Kerry, looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the League campaign, against a Castleisland side who themselves had a perfect record to protect.

The Thurles squad travelled the long distance minus a number of regulars who had been key to the good early season results, through work and personal commitments, as well as a couple of unexpected late withdrawals, which put a slight dent in team moral from the off.

Despite this slight setback, the men that did take the field gave their all for the cause and were unlucky not to come away with some sort of points for the trip home.

The first quarter was a very even affair with both sides having a go at each other's try line. The home side opened the scoring but it was Eoghan O'Dwyer who won the kicking dual early on outscoring the Castleislands place kicker 3 penalties to 2 for a 6-9 score line in favour of the Tipperary men.

Thurles were slowly but surely getting on top, with the front row of Ger McCormack, Dave Kelly and Jason O'Mahony providing a good platform for backs to work from. A couple of good breaks by Peter Coman and

Shane Maloney close to half time put the away side in prime position for attack, but before the move could get going, a knock on was forced and the Castleisland full back cleared looking for touch to end the half.

The clearance kick went down into the Thurles 22 but Adrian Bourke wasn't quite ready for a break just yet, he passed inside to full back Eoghan, who spotted space, but more importantly he spotted support and two props as the first line of opposition, as Eoghan made light work of the front rows, he went on to draw in two more players before sending Aidan Dwyer on his way 30 yards out for the opening try of the game, as Thurles went in leading at the break 6-14.

Thurles re-started the game, with Dwayne Stanley, Larry O'Gorman and Donnacha Duggan continuing the great work rate in the pack, making some great tackles and yardage between them. Half way through the second period, Thurles began to lose their composure, giving away 3 kickable penalties as Castleisland enjoyed a 15 minute purple patch where they also added two tries to stretch their lead to 29-14.

The Thurles management introduced Charles Langley and welcomed David Walsh back after a couple of months out of action. This injection of freshness sparked a bit of life back into the side as Thurles laid siege in the Castleisland 22 for the remainder of the game.

John Coman came close in the corner but was unfortunate to be bundled into the touch as he touched down. David Walsh, Nicky Irwin and Shane Moloney were others to have a crack at the line before Peter Kinane, who was having a super game, powered his way through a number of defenders to score beneath the posts for a quickly converted try.

Thurles had one last chance to try and salvage a losing bonus point, some great play out of defence brought Thurles into home territory before a knock on ended the game as the ref blew the final whistle to signal Thurles' first defeat of the season.

The team will be bitterly disappointed with the result as they will feel it was a game there for the taking at various stages throughout and one in which they left behind but there is great character within this team and with another big game against Tipperary Town side Clanwilliam next weekend at home, they will be looking to make amends and get their League challenge back on track.

Many thanks to those who travelled to Castleisland to support the team on Sunday, it was greatly appreciated by the management and players, we hope to see you and many more at Loughtagalla this Sunday at 2.30pm to cheer on the team in this important clash.

Thurles Women v Clonmel: Munster League

Thurles Women's team began their League campaign at home on Sunday with a bonus point victory over"" Clonmel on Sunday. Clonmel got off to a confident start and were in control in the opening stages of the game. The first try of the game came from Clonmel winger Lisa Corcoran.

The conversion attemptfrom Danielle Delahunty was succesful and Clonmel went into an early lead. Thurles regained their composure from the restart and their perseverance paid off when Ashling Byrne scored the home side's first try right in the corner.

Clonmel still held the lead as the conversion attempt from a difficult angle was unsuccessful. Clonmel extended their lead when Thurles conceded a penalty right in front of the post which was easily slotted over by Delahunty.

Claire Mockler collects the line-out for Thurles

Thurles scored their second try when Aimee Crowe went over in the opposite corner to level the game at 10 all. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful, the score remained level at the break.

Thurles were in control for much of the second half and were confident both in attack and defense. Clonmel failed to score in the second half though they came close on numerous occasions. Their failure to score in the second half gave Thurles the opportunity to edge ahead of their opposition for the first time in the game. Thurles were patient and when an opportunity arose Ciara Quinn scored a wonderfully executed try. Thurles took the lead for the first time in the game. Miriam Harrison scored a fourth and final try for the home side and though the conversion attempt was narrowly missed Thurles had a 20 -10 lead over their opponents.

""The game ended with a 20 – 10 confident win for Thurles but with both sides coming close to scoring on numerous occasions the final score did not reflect the intensity of the game that could have yielded further tries for both sides. Congrats to Clonmel on a great game and well done to Thurles for a wonderful opening game performance. Thurles Women will look to build on their performance when they take on Cashel at home next Sunday. All support would be appreciated.

Aimee Crowe on her way to scoring a try for Thurles

The team were; Rebecca Byrne, Aisling Byrne, Aimee Crowe, Niamh Coman, Aoife Healy, Miriam Harrison, Ciara O'Dwyer, Jean Ryan, Catherine Kearney, Maria Woodlock, Ciara Quinn, Megan Callanan, Claire Mockler, Joanne Harrison, Ruth Purcell. Subs: Helena Bermingham(HT), Lesley O'Sullivan (2nd half), Stephanie Moore(2nd Half), Susan Max, Katie Longe, Shelly Loughnane, Denise Colclough.

Thurles U-18s v Cashel:
Thurles were defeated by Cashel in a scoreline of 20-5. Thurles had a very good first ending in a score of 5 all. In the second half thurles let the game slip away letting Cashel in for 2 tries. The outstanding performance on the day was from Thurles number 7 John Shanahan.

Thurles U-16s v Cashel:
Thurles U-16s had their first league win at home to Cashel on Sunday morning. It was a perfect day for running rugby which Thurles exploited. The first try was from a Thurles scrum.

The ball was flashed out the backs and Ed o Gorman went over the line. Ed was to cross the line three more times. Kieran Dunne and Aaron Maher also got on the score sheet from running moves. The final try was scored when Anthony Ryan made a great carry out of the 22 and after a Cashel maul Michael Ryan came out with the ball and ran in under the posts.

Jack Flanagan had a flawless day with the boot adding a drop goal and penalty kick to 7 from 7 convertions. Credit to Cashel who never gave up, scoring under the posts from a well worked try from pressure in the scrum. The Cashel no 8 picked from the back of the scrum and ran in under the posts which they converted. The final score Thurles 55 Cashel 7. Next match next weekend at home to Nenagh

Thurles U-14s v Nenagh: Thurles 0 – 39 Nenagh:
Thurles U14s suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Nenagh last Saturday evening. It was men against boys with Nenagh employing some very big units in the pack.

The visitors made light of the difficult conditions to play some very good running rugby. Nenagh were up after 5 minutes, and were 4 tries to the good by half-time.

Thurles were on the back foot all day but let themselves down with some poor defence at times. They have two weeks to regather before facing Cashel in the final game of the league. Only a win in this would leave them with an outside of making the quarter finals.

Junior League 2 South – Waterford City 31 – 5 Carrick:
City dominated Carrick in Kilbarry on Saturday night and got the weekend off to a good start with a well-deserved bonus point win. Despite playing against a strong wind in the first half, they scored early when Mark Hayes made a break from a City scrum in their own half and the ball was then worked wide to Aidan Power who showed great pace to race home from half way.

Midway through the first half Mark Lally finished clinically following a good move from a set piece in the Carrick 22. Aaron Foskin converted both scores and City led 14-5 at the break, City had the wind in the 2nd half and put the game to bed with a try from Connor Brennan who handed off an attempted tackle to score under the posts.

City played some fantastic rugby, Paddy Halloran showing Simon Zebo like skills to chip a low pass up into his hands in full stride and Liam McCarthy providing powerful drives off the back of the scrum despite playing in what would not be his natural position.

Stephen Walsh got the bonus point try after collecting a cross field kick and scoring in the corner, the win was capped off by a try from Captain Eamon O'Keefe after an unselfish pass from Gary Keane to send him over in the corner. Despite some strong performances in the pack it was James Halligan who was City man of the match.

Scorers:
Try: A Power, M Lally, C Brennan, S Walsh, E O'Keefe. Conversions: A Foskin 3
2nd November 2014

Munster Division 2 – Killarney 3 – 17 Waterford City:
City got their first win of the season in the league after a long journey to Kerry on Sunday and just missed out on the bonus point win.

The first half was littered with mistakes from the away team and they trailed by 3 points to nil at half time. City came out from the break though determined and a great break down the blind side from Danny May led to a scrum 5 metres out from the line.

The City scrum was strong all day and they got a pushover try with Simon O'Hara touching down. A second try followed shortly, from a lineout on half way the ball was moved quickly wide to Ryan Philips and the centre outpaced his opposite number before cutting inside the covering defence for a fantastic try.

The away team then saw captain Dave O'Connor harshly yellow carded and had to defend well for 10 minutes while down to 14 men. City kept Killarney at bay and with 5 minutes to go, the City lineout rumbled over with Jason Power picking up the third try.

It was just too late for the travelling side to pick up the bonus point win but it was a good away win especially considering the journey and poor first half.

The pack played really well as a unit and Phil Kennedy had a great game but it was vice-captain Darren Walsh who took man of the match. Some excellent running and kicking from Darren got City firing in the second half to make it two wins from two for the club this weekend.

Scorers:
Try: S O'Hara, R Philips, J Power. Conversions: D Walsh

Ulster Bank League Division 2B – DLSP Vrs Bruff:
Bruff seniors recorded another great win in division 2B with a dogged victory over a well-disciplined home team. With the inclement weather making it very difficult for both teams, this was a victory ground out of hard work and never say die attitude.

Bruff started the better team and after a 5 minute period of pressure were rewarded with a penalty which was missed to the right hand side of the posts by winger Declan Bannon. DLSP responded with a period of possession themselves and some great recovery work by centre Sean Darcy prevented DLSP scoring a try after 8 minutes.

DLSP continued to pressure their visitors and remained inside the Bruff 22 until great defensive by Johnny Clery and Ger O'Connell saw Bruff clear their lines and move the play back to the half way line. On 24 minutes Bruff's rhythm was disrupted with a leg injury to second row Ger O'Connell which saw the Knockainey man leave the field of play to be replaced by Mikey Cooke.

Bruff once again won a penalty inside the DLSP half on 26 minutes but Declan Bannon was again unlucky to see it slide wide of the posts. Shortly after the first score of the game was recorded when DLSP, after winning 2 consecutive penalties to move the ball downfield, were successful with a kickable 3rd penalty to go 3-0 in front on 31 minutes.

A response was required and to be fair to Brendan Deady's charges they weren't found lacking. DLSP were pinged on 38 minutes for offside allowing Bannon to draw the visitors level. Half time score was 3-3. A second substitution at half time saw Mike Carroll enter the fray for Jake Considine.

Little did the watching crowd realise what a part both men would later play in the match. With no let up in the weather. moving the ball to the backs was proving increasingly difficult for both teams. Penalties were awarded to both teams over the opening 20 minutes of the second half without any change to the scoreboard.

However the deciding moments of the game occurred after 65 minutes when DLSP were awarded a penalty on their left hand side, playing with a strong breeze the home supporters expected their team to got back in front but fortunately for Bruff it was missed, Then the reintroduction of Jake Considine and Davy Horan, who had been earlier substituted in the second half, added some needed impetus to the Bruff attack.

On 68 minutes Bruff won a penalty to relieve the pressure on our defensive and after several phases prop Colm O'Sullivan made a great run into the DLSP 22, however the ball was coughed up and DLSP scrambled a clearance. As we entered the final minute with the score locked a 3-3, it appeared that the scoring was finished for the day but one last break into the DLSP 22 followed by sustained pressure with some great carries from Jake Considine and Danny Keogh lead the decisive score.

A beautifully executed reverse flick pass from scrum half Tony Cahill to back rower Mike Carroll, saw him barrell over for the game's only try. It was duly converted by Declan Bannon. Shortly afterwards the final whistle saw great scenes of joy from the visiting supporters who had travelled in great numbers. Bruff now move up one place to 7th and with 2 wins and a draw from 4 outings, it must be considered a very solid start to the new season.

*We're glad to report that Ger O'Connell has recovered from his injury and turned up on Sunday morning to coach the Bruff U9's

Next up is Richmond in Kilballyowen next Friday night 7th Nov under lights. Kick off 7.30,

U20 Donal Walsh Trophy Section B:
The under 20's were in action at home to NUIG-Corinthians on Saturday in the U20's league. Bruff came into the game on the back of a league victory over UL Bohs and were hoping to carry on from where they finished the last day out. Unfortunately they came up against a fiercely determined and physically dominant side in the Galway men losing out on a score line of 31-7.

Bruff trailed 19-0 at half time conceding 2 try's and 3 penalties in the opening 40. They did manage to reduce the lead to 19-7 15 minutes into the 2nd half with a great team try. Full back Brian Fanning picked up a loose NUIG-Corinthians kick in his own half and returned it with a defensive splitting run back into the visitors 22.

Bruff recycled at the break down a put the ball through a number of hands before Eamon O Dea finished with the touch down converted by James Guinea. But this was all Bruff would have to show for their efforts as the Galway side added a further 2 trys before full time.

Bruff Team: Bruff 1-8, Shane Breen, Mikie Walsh, Brendan Keogh, James Keogh , Conor O'Dwyer, Eamon O'Dea, Niall Mallon, Thomas O'Dwyer 9-15 John Carew, Graham Whelan, Killian O'Riordan, Darragh Fanning, Ciaran Ryan, Liam Treacy, Anthony Foley Brian Fanning Subs, Eric Finn, Robert Laffan , Anthony Neylon, Jack Kirkby.

Senior 2nds League North:
In the senior 2nds League the J1 team lost out to Thomond on a score line of 31-13, Bruff had trys from Des Power, Marcus Mulvihill and a Penalty from Eoin Quinn. The 2nds now have a badly needed break for a few weeks. With up to 10 players out injured the 2nds can regroup and hopefully look forward to a good run in the league to come.

Ladies Rugby:
On Sunday Bruff Women's started their second match at home against St Mary's, determined to erase that memory of last weeks unfortunate defeat against Abbeyfeal RFC where we didn't even get onto the score board.

After a bit of a shaky start, midway through the first half the score was nearly opened by full back Audrey Dempsey who was finishing a great spell of back play, thrusting herself over the try-line in the far corner. Unfortunately the ball did not rest under her chest but bounced out due to the force of the downward pressure.

So ref Cleary ordered a Bruff scum on the 5 meter line, from which the ball got played into the backs who had to do a bit of magic, after which fly half Cathrine Quinn was able to finish it off with a try close enough to the post to also hop over the conversion. 7-0.

With a bit more conviction the rest of the first half Bruff women sort of camped in St Mary's half but only at the last minute of the first half 2nd row Niamh Raleigh forced her way over the try-line from a ruck in the far corner, pushed on by no 8 Heidi van Schayk to be sure she got past the defending Mary's players.12-0 at Half time.

At the start of the second half St Mary's came back with some conviction and were putting Bruff women under pressure in the bottom part of the field for a long time. Following a couple of penalties they were finally able to cross the line in the far corner: 12-5.

After that Bruff women found their mojo and kept Mary's tied to their half most of the time. Towards the end of the second half wing Eileen O'Gorman got her chance to bash through Mary's back line after some great back play and put the ball close enough to the posts to allow fly half Cathrine Quinn to complete the conversion.

Final score: 19-5

Next match is next week Sunday at home in Bruff against Richmond.

Underage Results:
The U18's had a 57-10 win on Sunday against a combined UL Bohs/ Old Crescent team. Bruff try scorer's, Dylan Reeves-Wasik, Conor Fitzpatrick, Jack Fitzgerald, Jack O Grady & Mattew O Dea. Weekend Round-Up:
Last Weekend was a mixed bag of results across the club with the Thirds and U-16s having two great victories but the Seniors, ladies and U18s all losing.

The Weekend started with the Seniors travelling to Tullamore, and losing 33-6. Conditions were poor on the day, but Tullamore started quicker and had 2 converted tries in the first 20mins. We were trailing them from the start but Brian Mullins kicked 2 Penalties, and it was 14-6 just after half time. We were much better in the second half and our scrum dominated for the first 15-20mins but a silly mistake and Tullamore had their third try. Two sin bins at the same time for us didn't help and Tullamore seized the opportunity and scored 2 more tries.

Currently we are bottom on the league level with Ards but our ""points difference is much worse than theirs. This Friday Night we make the short journey out to Kilballyowen Park to take on Bruff in the league. We are still in search of our first win, so hopefully the boys can put the last few weeks games behind them and get the season started. Game is kicking off at 7.30pm, would be great to have a good support out in Bruff for the game.

The thirds also played in the Gleeson league on Saturday against UL Bohs and wining impressively 15-5 in Annacotty. Shane Gallagher and John Madigan scored our tries, and Brian O'Neill kicked a conversion and Penalty. Man of the match had to be Maurice O'Shea who was outstanding on his first game back for the club.

On Sunday our U-16s and Ladies both travelled to Abbeyfeale with the U16s having their first victory and the Ladies losing a strong Abbeyfeale team. The U16s had an remarkable first win in the league with Kevin Madden, Adam Mc Carthy and Jordon Madden all scored tries, and Jack O'Hanlon Kicking 2 conversions.

Well done to all involved. The Ladies knew travelling down that a victory would be probably not be on the cards, as Abbeyfeale are the strongest club in the development league as well as having a number of Munster and Senior players on their panel. Our Girls were disappointed but will learn from the experience. They play against Bruff on Sunday in Bruff at 2pm, as there is no men's game on Sunday afternoon you support would be greatly appreciated.

Munster Junior One League – St Mary's 20 – 10 Waterpark:
Waterpark found them selves 10 points to nil down at halftime after a very disappointing first half display. Some strong words at the break seemed to take some affect as the away side showed character in Grove Island and fought back to level this tie at 10-10 with ten minutes remaining.

A well worked try coming from wing forward Scott Hornibrook with out half Kieran Bulter landing the conversion. A penalty from Bulter put this game right in the balance but the home side held out for the victory. Waterpark were denied a losing bonus point as the Marys outhalf landed a penalty with the last kick of the game.

Junior 2 League – Waterpark 7 – 10 Clonmel:
Waterpark fell to their second league defeat of the season at home to Clonmel last Sunday morning. Both the defeats have come at home so a long season ahead for this side with some tricky away fixtures on the horizon starting in Cashel next week.

The home sides pack was well on top in the game but they could not turn the possession into points. Waterparks only try of the game came from a well constructed lineout which led to an driving maul that saw player coach Mick McCarthy touch down, out half Geoff Deegan landed the extras.

Waterpark held their 2 point advantage until the final 10 minutes when a good backline move saw the Clonmel winger score after some slick handling. The last 5 minutes was fanatic as the Ballinakill side sought a score to tie or win the game.

However good defence from the Tipperary side kept them at bay. The Waterpark out half Deegan had a opportunity to land a drop goal but he was wide with his effort.

Overall a much better display than last week's performance.

Under 18 Friendly: Waterpark 34 – 19 Farnham
Waterpark hosted Farnham from London over the weekend with a 15 a side game on Friday night, a 7 a side blitz on Saturday and the weekend was round off with a Barbarian style game on Sunday.

The Friday night encounter was Waterpark toughest game to date with the Londoners' different style of rugby causing the home side some problems as they raced in to a 12 point lead in the first half. Just on the stroke of half-time a quick tap penalty from Jordan O'Regan, gave second row Jamie Flynn the space he needed to power over.

Molloy was wide with the conversion. In the second half Waterpark took control with tries coming from centre Stephen Breen, number 8 Jack Walsh(2), winger James Dodds and prop Danny O'Keeffe. Out-half James Kiersey kicked 2 conversions.

Under 16s Friendly: Waterpark 28 – 15 Carlow
The U-16s continued their recent good run with this win in Ballinakill last Saturday. Tries from Shay White, Harry Donnelly(2) and Glen Kavanagh ensured the home side the win against this Carlow side.

Under 15s Friendly: Carlow 26 – 10 Waterpark
The U-15s travelled to Carlow last Saturday for this fixture. Waterpark tries from the forwards with Ciaran O'Sullivan crossing the whitewash however both conversion were missed. A good effort from this young side with the new coaching style of Joss Jones starting to take effect.

Under 14s League: Waterpark 50 – 0 Dungarvan
Waterpark had a convincing win over Dungarvan in this league fixture last Saturday and so maintain their position at the top of the league table. The home side crossed for 8 tries in total with centre Gavin Corbett helping himself to 5 tires and 4 conversion for a personal tally of 32 points, admirable at any level. Paul Leavy, Josh Duggan and Mark O'Haire also scored tries with Duggan landing one conversion.
