Annual Pat Lawler Tournament, Saturday, 30th September.

U.L. Bohemian R.F.C are now in their 35th Year running the Pat Lawler Tournament. This tournament keeps alive the memory of a very special player who played for Bohemian RFC, Thomond RFC and also soccer with Limerick AFC. We anticipate having 24 teams taking part this year.

The 24 teams will play in  groups of  4 with teams progressing to play off for both Cup and Shield Competitions. This results in over 50 games being played in the competition. This promises to be a festival of rugby and many of the players on view no doubt going on to represent their province and country. You only have to look at the teams that have won the Cup in the past and names like Andrew Trimble, Ronan O’Gara, Keith Earls, Tom Tierney, Peter Stringer and Duncan Williams, are revealed. All the local clubs are always represented along with teams such as Tralee,Highfield, Sligo,Portlaoise, Kilkenny, Terenure College, St. Marys College, Waterpark, Clanwilliam, Wexford Wanderers, Ballymena, Coleraine and Instonians having all taken part over the years.

This season we are holding the tournament in our own grounds in Annacotty, in Limerick on Saturday 30th September.  Each team consists of 18 players, and on the day we provide each player with a pack containing a light lunch and refreshments. Food services will also be available pitchside.
