This week’s Club Notes come from Bruff, Newcastle West and UL Bohemian rugby clubs.
UL Bohemian RFC

Following on from last season’s success; winning the All Ireland League , All Ireland Cup and Munster Cup, UL Bohemian Women’s Rugby are looking for an experienced Head Coach and assistant coaches to create and implement an engaging season plan that will enable all players to meet their full potential.
UL Bohemian women team has over 65 members, with a long proud history of players involved with the Munster, Leinster and Connacht Women’s Squads. 31 players have represented Ireland since 2001 with that number still growing.
The role:
- Deliver engaging and beneficial training sessions throughout the season
- Create a coherent and progressive seasonal training plan for the club.
- Define a realistic and achievable team strategy for the players to work towards.
- Give advice and direction to develop individual players.
- Engage senior players in assisting with coaching sessions.
- Provide impartial and insightful advice with team selection.
- Attend all 1st XV matches (including all away matches), providing team warm-up and strategic decision making during the match.
- Build and develop a coaching team to aid players at all levels and abilities who fall outside of the 1st XV.
- Improve seasonal training attendances, make it fun, challenging and beneficial to all.

- Enthusiastic and personable.
- Able to write and deliver a seasonal coaching plan and strategy that works towards pre-defined goals.
Head Coach
Required qualifications and experience:
- Qualified to Level 3 (Stage 5) IRFU Coaching Qualification or higher or working towards same.
- Experience of coaching a competitive rugby team
Assistant Coaches
Required qualifications & experience:
- Qualified to Level 1 (Stage 3) IRFU Coaching Qualification or higher or working towards same.
- S&C coaching experience (desirable)

Up coming Golf Classic
Ballyneety Golf Club is the venue for this year’s Fundraising golf classic which will be held over two days on Thursday and Friday August 17th & 18th. Scrap metal collection
Bruff RFC would like to thank everyone who contributed to the scrap metal collection which was held over the weekend of July 21st. It was a very successful event and great credit goes to the organisers which was led by members of the senior team.
Munster Rugby Camp
It’s that time of the year again for Summer Camps and this year in conjunction with Munster Rugby, Bruff RFC are delighted to host the Summer Camp from Monday 7th to Friday 11th August 2017.
The cost for the week is €75, you can register on line at www.munsterrugby.ie by going to the domestic page and click on the Summer Camp tab to register.
The Camps will be managed and run by fully accredited I.R.F.U. Mini Rugby coaches. Camp places are available for boys and girls from 6 years old to 12 years old.
Each participant will receive an Official Summer Camp Pack comprising an Adidas Summer Camp T-Shirt, Adidas Shorts, Adidas Socks, Draw-String Bag, Mouth Guard and one junior ticket to a Munster pre-season match.

Minis Membership Registration Day
We are having a registration day for all minis on Sunday 27th of August 2017 in Kilelline Grounds Clubhouse times will be confirmed nearer the Date. Hope to see you all there it will also be a chance to meet all coaches and club committee members.

Minis and youths fundraising 80s Quiz night
We at Newcastle west R.F.C would like to thank Seamus and Breda of Cleary’s bar South Quay Newcastle West for a wonderful night last Friday night at the fundraising 80s quiz for the minis and youths. The winners were Pam O’Shea, Simon Lenihan, Helen Ahern, Dinny Ahern, Jackie Doyle and Chris Browne.

Junior and U20 Squads
Strength and conditioning is taking place in Killeline next Tuesday night at 7pm. All Junior and Under 20 players welcome to attend.
U18
Pre-season training is on Thursday nights at 7.30pm in Killeline.
Elite XV (Seconds)
We are entering an elite (seconds) team into the upcoming seasons competitions. We are going into these competitions with our near neighbours Estuary Rfc, Abbeyfeale Rfc, and Listowel Rfc. This is a great opportunity for all four clubs to give guys a chance to play rugby. We are looking to recruit as many players as possible. So if anyone is interested in playing for this team you can contact the manager, Sam Lane on 086 2007482 or from any other of partners in this new venture you can contact the respective clubs committee and they will pass your details onto Sam.
Adare To Survive Challenge:
We are looking for people from 16 years old up to participate in Adare to survive on Sunday 24th of September. We are hoping to have at least 20 people participating we can have a group up to 50. We are looking for players’ parents, coaches or family and friends to come join the group. The more that join the group participating the cheaper the entry for each individual to pay to participate. Tag Rugby
Every Wednesday night 19.30 to 20.30 there will be Tag rugby for people who are 16 years old and older we have had a lot of parents take part in this and have decided to keep it going as a social and fitness group. No experience necessary we will teach you along the way so come join us every Wednesday night in Kilelline Grounds.
Munster Rugby Camp
We are hosting a Munster rugby summer camp for all ages from 6 to 12 years old you have to book on line for this. The camp will run from August Monday 21st to Friday 25th 09.30 to 13.30 each day. Camp kids learn from the Munster youth’s coaches and on the Friday meet two of the players from Munster. Munster Rugby Skills Camp
Munster are willing to provide a Tuesday to Friday “Skills Camp” for Boys only aged 12 to 15 at same time as our Munster Rugby Camp week in August Monday 21st to Friday 25th. Cost €35 euro.
